Personal Conda Environments - Jupyter Notebooks

I have a query about personal conda environments in relation to Jupyter Notebooks within JupyterHub/Lab. I managed to put a conda environment in the personal workspace folder that is given to us which is OK for running python scripts and notebooks through the terminal. But I don’t know how to get Jupyter Notebook to recognize it as an environment for the notebook itself.

Is there a way to change the Jupyter Notebook kernel that we’re using to a python kernel from a different conda environment?

Thank you,

Hello Emmanual,

Jupyter uses its own conda environment. You cannot change the kerne’s environment on runtime.

What is the use case? Do you need different dependencies?

Hello again,

No, so far I have not needed any extra packages. But out of habit I typically make different environments depending upon the project/exploration. If I need any different dependencies in the future, I’ll be sure to contact you.

Thanks for the reply!
